Antonio Conte is available and seemingly on the radar of Manchester United as pressure mounts for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer again.

United’s recent Champions League defeat, to Swiss minnows Young Boys, caused the dogs to bark at Solskjaer’s door once more.

On numerous occasions throughout his tenure in the Red Devils dugout, the Norwegian has been staring directly into the abyss.

A run of strong results, or a noticeable victory, have constantly pulled him away from the flame and back into the comfy seat.

But this latest loss is making the former striker feel the familiar heat on his face all.

How long can this back-and-forth charade last before United look for alternative options?

With Conte on the market, and apparently open to taking over the reins at Old Trafford, sweat will undoubtedly be dripping from Solskjaer’s brow.

If the Italian came in, which corner of the dressing room would be most pleased?

Here are three players we think would benefit from the former Chelsea manager’s arrival in Manchester:

Paul Pogba

Jose Mourinho couldn’t get it right. Solskjaer is struggling to find a consistent solution.

Unlocking Paul Pogba’s undoubted talent has proved to be Rubik’s Cube level of difficulty.

But one man is more than suitable to solve the puzzle.

Conte was the coach who truly kickstarted Pogba’s career, signing him from United in 2012 whilst in charge of Juventus.

They won successive Serie A titles together, whilst the Frenchman earned the Golden Boy award in 2013.

Few in football have truly worked out the magnificent midfielder; Conte could be the key to his magic powers.

Nemanja Matic

Another disciple of the Italian’s teachings, Nemanja Matic would surely welcome Conte in with open arms.

The Serbian was a major part of Chelsea’s 2016/17 Premier League title winning squad, forming a fine central partnership alongside N’Golo Kante.

His stock has slowly decreased since switching to United in the summer of 2017 for £40m (BBC).

Yet, with a few years still left in the tank, Matic might discover a revival under his ex-boss.

Victor Lindelof

A defining feature of that victorious season three years ago was Conte’s deployment of a 3-4-3 system.

It took the league by storm, as many other clubs tried to replicate the formation.

Although it was refreshing for the division, Conte had used a similar style before at Juventus, preferencing a 3-5-2 instead.

He continued this trend after becoming Inter Milan’s chief of command, ensuring equal success.

The benefits of utilising three central defenders are clear in Conte’s blueprints, a tactic that Victor Lindelof could profit upon.

Raphael Varane’s move from Real Madrid signalled the end of the Sweden’s regular role next to Harry Maguire.

However, with a third man at the back, Lindelof’s chances of regaining his spot would definitely increase.
