As expected, German assistant Jamilon Mülders will hold sway as national coach of the Orange Women in the coming weeks. The former national coach of Germany and China replaces Alyson Annan, who left the reigning world and Olympic champions with immediate effect last week.
The KNHB opts for a temporary solution with Mülders. The interim national coach will be responsible until the restart of the Dutch big league in March. Technical director Jeroen Bijl says that the KNHB is ‘in the meantime considering a solution for the longer term.’
The 45-year-old Mülders, who played 42 international matches for Germany and has been assistant national coach with the Orange since September 2021 , is already this week as a trainer for the group, which is fully reunited for the first time since the Games. Mülders is also on the bench at the Orange squad during the four Pro League games against Spain and India, which are scheduled for February.

Jeroen Bijl, technical director of the KNHB: ‘Jamilon Mülders knows our ladies and has a lot of international experience. We are happy that he is willing to take over coaching in the coming period. The ladies and staff can prepare with him for the FIH Pro League matches against Spain and India.’
Jamilon Mülders says that he has worked ‘with pleasure’ at the Orange Ladies since September as an assistant as Annan. “I am very grateful to her for the trust,” said Mülders in the KNHB’s press release. ‘Last week the KNHB asked me if I wanted to coach the group for the next five weeks to help them in this difficult time. It was not an easy decision because I really enjoyed working with Alyson. But I want to help the team and have therefore complied with the request of the KNHB.’
