Manchester United will face Everton in the Premier League clash at Goodison Park on April 20.
The Red Devils will be seeking to grab maximum points in that match as they struggle to book a spot in the top four as the season comes to an end. Everton, on the other hand, will be seeking to avenge last week’s 2-0 defeat from the hands of Fulham.
Manchester United vs Everton h2h
The Toffeemen have lost two of their last five matches while the Red Devils have lost three times. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side is sixth-placed with 64 points, two points clear of fellow top-four contenders Arsenal, currently in the fifth position. A win at Goodison Park will push them through to the fourth position being held by Chelsea.
Marco Silva’s side are currently at position nine with 46 points and have won 13 times since the beginning of the season. United have lost seven times, while Everton have suffered 14 losses this season. Solskjaer’s side beat the Toffeemen 2-1 in their last encounter in 2018.
Both teams will be seeking to prove who is ‘king’ during the Saturday’s clash.
Bookies in favor of United to win
Bookies are counting on United to emerge winners with odds at 2.20, while putting Everton’s chance to win at 3.10. The possibility of a draw stands at 3.25.
The slim odd difference means that anything could happen in this game. As much as a number of football experts and bookies are backing United’s win, Everton might pull off a surprise win at Goodison Park. Both teams have a good chance of emerging victorious if they play their cards right.
United’s players are tired
Manchester United will be going to this game ‘tired’ after playing more than two games in a span of a week which could affect their overall performance. The Toffeemen could take advantage of the situation and grab a win during the encounter.
Recently, United’s boss Solskjaer appealed to UEFA to change its Champions League scheduling, after googling why the Red Devils were playing again in such a short span.
Richarlison is a threat to Solskjaer’s side
Everton forward Richarlison de Andrede is likely to cause trouble for Solskjaer’s side due to his speed and goal-scoring skills. The 33-year-old Brazilian scored 13 goals for Everton this season and played 33 matches for Silva’s side. United’s defense will need to keep him off their goal area.
Beating the Toffeemen could be an uphill task for United during Saturday’s clash, given their home advantage. The team can play off the energy of the fans. The last time Silva’s side beat United at home was in April 2015 and it will be up to United to prevent Everton from re-living history.
Based on the past history of the two sides, I would bet on United to win or a draw. However, Saturday’s game could turn out either way. The desire to win and the overall performance of each team will determine who carries the day.
