Immortals Gaming Club-owned Brazilian esports organisation MIBR has closed a partnership with blockchain company Socios.com to launch an official Fan Token.

MIBR joins organisations like Team Vitality, Team Alliance, OG, Natus Vincere, and Team Heretics as esports partners of Socios.com. It is also the first Brazilian team to be tokenized by the platform.

MIBR fans will receive rewards like special content, activations alongside the players, exclusive rewards and the opportunity to attend events in person as special guests upon acquiring the $MIBR asset. Fans will also have access to polls that will directly affect decisions taken by the organisation, MIBR claimed.

The deal is part of a marketing campaign launched by MIBR in 2022 titled ‘Nossa história, Nosso Futuro’ (Portuguese for ‘Our Story, Our Future’), which aims to engage the organisation’s fans.

The deal with MIBR was closed almost two months after Socios.com signed the Brazilian marketing agency Druid to support its operations in the country regarding fan experiences, including game tickets, hospitality tickets, meet and greets and stadium and training facility visits.

Socios.com is also known in the traditional sports market, being responsible for Fan Tokens of clubs like FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan, Atlético Madrid, Manchester City, Inter Milan, and Arsenal, while holding businesses in leagues like the NFL, NHL, NBA, and the MLS.

It is also hosts Fan Tokens for teams and competitions in fighting, tennis, and motorsport. In Brazil, the platform works with ten football clubs.

Although MIBR is the first Brazilian esports brand to partner with Socios.com, it is not the first organisation in the country to launch fan tokens. In September 2021, esports organisation XIS had already made tokens available through the ApolloEX platform, before entering a 14-month naming rights deal with OG Life in January 2022 and transferring its assets into it.
