‘The Time Is Now’ campaign launches

Along with our clubs and coaches across the country, Badminton England are delighted to launch a new campaign today to get players back on court and help grow the sport across the country.

Our ‘The Time Is Now’ campaign seeks to highlight the scale and accessibility of the sport, and the health and social benefits of playing whilst reminding everyone of the reasons to get back to playing and encouraging new players onto court.

With the fantastic display of our sport at the Tokyo Olympic Games this summer – and the countdown to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022, allied with badminton’s return after such a long period off court – the time really is now to bring our sport back.

“This is a pivotal time for our sport, and one in which our clubs and our members need all the support they can get”, said Adrian Christy, CEO of Badminton England.

“This campaign allows us to help encourage newcomers, while inviting our members to return to their local court at their own convenience and pace. We are excited to showcase the sport in a new light and on the wave of the Olympic and Paralympic buzz from Tokyo, we will help to bring the sport to a whole new audience.

“Badminton is already bigger than many people realise – our job is to showcase that, and make our sport more widely celebrated, recognised and played.”

The campaign will run across Badminton England’s website and social channels and also provide marketing materials for clubs up and down the country to encourage people to visit their local badminton court. #TheTimeIsNow will culminate with The Big Hit, set to run from Monday 13 to Friday 17 September. This week of celebration will see clubs and venues hosting a variety of open days, come and try events, and fun new formats (including family cups and outdoor badminton) for all to take part in.

We want to get as many people as possible onto a badminton court, whether with a club or in a pay and play session like No Strings and to have their own ‘Big Hit’.
