Ashanti Gold FC put Betpawa Premier League on hold


Kofi Manu has confirmed that an injunction from the Accra High Court has been placed on the BetPawa Premier League. This was done by the Management of Obuasi Ashanti Gold Sporting Club.

Mr. Manu disclosed this on Abusua FM this evening during an interview with Prosper the host. “It is true that Ashanti Gold have placed an injunction on the league for the 2022/23 season” he confirmed.

He went on to remark thus ” a child that will not allow the mother to sleep in the night will also not sleep during the day”. Mr. Manu popularly known as Blue Boy also cautioned that “anyone who tries to play the BetPawa Premier League will spend the upcoming Christmas in jail”.

“This injunction is the first step in series of actions from the Management of Ashgold” Blue Boy explained. Mr. Manu also revealed that, after this Mr. Kwaku Frimpong the CEO of Ashgold SC will sue the Executive Committee of Ghana Football Association.

It can be recalled that Ashanti Gold was punished by the Ghana Football Association for indulging in a fix game. They were found guilty after their purported prearranged score line of 5-0 against Inter Allies Football Club.

Ashgold were then sent to play in the Division Two of Ghana Football which they are protesting through the injunction.

The BetPawa Premier League was supposed to kick off this weekend for the start of the 2022/23 season.
