“Danny Dimes” did some time on the operating table this offseason.
The Giants quarterback’s season was cut short in 2021 after a Week 12 neck injury landed him on IR, but there was no surgery that took place to correct whatever went wrong.
On Thursday, reporters noticed that Jones had a scar on the front of his neck, just underneath his Adam’s apple, and Jones revealed that he had surgery this offseason — but the surgery wasn’t to correct whatever was happening with his neck.
Jones explained that the scar came from something totally unrelated.

Some early reports surrounding Jones’ neck injury was career-threatening. It wasn’t that, but he did miss the remainder of the Giants’ season while recovering.
It’s unclear what exactly the nature of the surgery was, but Jones is all systems go for the regular season.
